Book loan
The book loan:
- It is granted to students of the University for no more than 2 volumes simultaneously (5 volumes for teachers and graduates); the duration is 21 days (extended to 60 days exclusively for teachers, graduates and technical/administrative staff);
- it shall be binding until 30 minutes before closure;
- Bookings or loan requests can be made online up to 24 hours before pick-up, via the Catalogue on the Home-page.
Are excluded from the loan
- periodicals, both bound and in files;
- Encyclopedias, dictionaries, codes and generally all frequently consulted works;
- statistical documentation and legislation;
- ancient books and works in a precarious state of preservation;
- the theses;
- multimedia.
The loan, for users who do not need the study rooms, is made by appointment by booking at the link
https://www.univpm.it/prenotazione-servizi and selecting the option Front Office Reservation for withdrawal of loans and/or refunds.
Before booking please:
- check the catalog to see if books are available;
- make a borrow request or reservation if volumes are already borrowed to another user. You can do this through the BiblioUnivpm App or by accessing your personal area on the CAD site. This will allow books to be reserved for the requestor until the collection appointment.

Users in study rooms can borrow volumes directly at the counter, without following the practice of booking the loan/return service only.
If you are booking a volume for a loan to another user, upon receipt of the book's return notification, you can book your pick-up appointment within the deadline indicated by the email you received.
Repayment of past due loans
The volumes must be returned on the due date indicated on the loan card. Any delay will be punished with a suspension equal to the number of days late.
The return arrangements shall be:
- in person, by appointment to be booked on page https://www.univpm.it/prenotazione-servizi. You will be able to make both returns and further loans at the same appointment.
- by postal shipment with tracking of the shipment and emailed to the tracking reference library of the shipping receipt.
Shoddy and female students are required to return all borrowed volumes at least two weeks before the end of the course (e.g. two weeks before the date of graduation). Any irregular situations will be reported to the relevant student secretariat.
CAUTION: If the borrowed volume is lost or damaged, you will need to repurchase a copy of the same edition. In the event that the document is not available and in any case out of business, the penalty will consist of a suspension of the loan for six months.
Consultation
Consultation of books and periodicals:
- At the Technical-Scientific-Biomedical Library (Montedago) it is carried out with the “open shelf” system. The front office operators must be informed in advance and any bags must be stored in the appropriate lockers.
- At the Medical Library (turrets) it is carried out with the “closed shelf” system, i.e. upon request and with the assistance of Frontoffice staff;
- At the Biblioteca Economico-Giuridico-Sociologica (Villarey) , users are allowed to use open-shelf volumes without the intermediation of operators, taking care, at the end of the process, to store the materials in the appropriate container available.
