What it provides:
Access to the entire collection of Springer, Palgrave and Adis electronic periods, and the possibility for the corresponding authors UNIVPM to publish articles in open access (until the available quota is exhausted).
Conditions and affiliation:
Only the corresponding author affiliated to UNIVPM may propose the Article for publication in OA. Affiliated corresponding author means teaching and research staff employed or otherwise formally recognized as accredited by the institution.
When submitting , it is recommended to use the institutional email address and to indicate Universita Politecnica delle Marche as an institution of affiliation. The end the peer-review process and the acceptance of the Article by the magazine, the correct affiliation is validated by the University Documentation Centre.

original papers and review papers (excluding brief communications)

* Notice of 22/12/2022: Springer from 2023 will transform some of its hybrid magazines into Gold Open access, however, until the end of this agreement, these magazines will still be eligible to publish articles in Open access using vouchers to cover costs.
OA publishing license type:
Creative Commons CC-BY license for most magazines and CC-BY-NC license for a small set of titles.
Facilitation:
The corresponding author does not pay APC. Publication costs (and access costs) shall be borne by the University of Documentation Centre. Any other publication costs, such as submission fees, color pages and overlength pages fees, etc., they are excluded from the coverage of the contract.
Available Vouchers:
The total number of Vouchers for Open access publication covers the whole consortium and is centrally managed by CARE-CRUI, so the individual University does not hold a precise quantity to be used.
Note: During the submission flow of the Article the corresponding author can choose whether or not to publish with open access; choosing the OA will retain the rights and be free to share, copy and use their Article without restrictions.

I'm not a corresponding author, how do I publish OA?
All Univpm institutional authors who are corresponding authors of the proposed Article for publication can benefit from the facility.
In the case of articles with multiple authors that have a “corresponding author” from another university, it is necessary to check whether the establishment of the “corresponding author” is among those participating in the Italian contract or in contracts concluded in other countries.
What happens if the affiliation is not validated by the reference institution?
The author may nevertheless decide to publish in Open access at his own expense.
